The background is another technique from the Technique Junkies newsletter. Although the tutorial mentioned that you could emboss your piece and rub ink over it I thought it would be too much for this particular card. I know that my roommate will be thrilled to give this card to his mom for Mother's Day. Oh you want to see the card. O.K. Drum roll....
I had fun with my acrylic paints to make the background. The sweet girl is from Dover. After she was cut out I edged her with Vintage distress ink and then pop dotted her on the background. The banner was at one time a free file from Silhouette. I don't know if it still is. I turned it into a print and cut by filling in with graduated color. Then had my Cameo cut just the edges. I cut a separate piece for the sentiment. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed.
Thank you for stopping by and do come back. Wishing you Happy Frugal Crafting till we meet again!
I love your attitude! Maybe I can use this for something else......or just keep it until I find a use for it. Frugal is good!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did for the little girl. The textured background must be fab in real life. Sometimes photo don't do it justice.
Thanks for sharing.
