Rock Around The Clock

Hi everyone over at the Just For Fun Rubber Stamp blog we are having a 50's Flashback challenge going on.

While looking through the stamps I knew I had to have the Saddle shoe stamp. I also had to have the record adapter background stamp. I remember bugging my parents to buy me a pair of Saddle shoes. I just had to have them. Why I'm not sure because I've never been that fashion conscious. I also remember coming home to find a record player with a radio in my bedroom along with the red adapters to play 45's. Lol! I think my parents were tired of me playing records in the living room. I decided to combine the two stamps and this is what I came up with.

For the adapter panel I inked the unmounted rubber stamp and placed the stamp along with my piece of card stock into my embossing machine and embossed.

The music sheet was part of the card I did the adapter panel on and had red ink on it. When I wet the paper to put in the embossing folder which I had sprinkled and brushed Perfect Pearl on the ink faded to a pinkish color.

I was experimenting once again to see how Perfect Pearl would work embossing. This was my first attempt and being frugal I decided to go ahead and use it even though it was not perfect.

The shoes were stamped and colored with a color pencil.

I hope you will join in the challenge for a chance to win a gift card. It was fun to relive the 50's through stamps. Of course you don't have to have lived in the 50's to experience a flashback. :-)

Thank you for stopping by. Wishing you Happy Frugal Crafting till we meet again!

  1. Gosh, the red pieces for the records really brings back memories and makes for a nice background. Great 50's card.
