Elegant Santa

Hi everyone One Crazy Stamper's challenge this month is Fall/Winter Fun. When I think of Winter fun I think of Christmas and Santa. With that thought in mind I decided to play with High Hope's Elegant Santa stamp. Which by the way High Hopes so generously sent me along with another stamp for winning their September contest.

I had so much fun creating this card that I only wish I could have gotten better photos. Hopefully the closeups I took will give you a good idea of how gorgeous this card really is.

I started out by wiping VersaMark ink on my embossing folder. The folder had teal blue residue and the ink picked up that color.  I then heat embossed my deli embossed paper with Recollections glitter embossing powder.

My circle was cut from a scrap of card stock I marbled using shaving cream and reinkers last year. I love the way this paper turned out and think it is time I marble more paper using this technique.

I added reinker to my VersaMark WaterMark inkpad as I wanted to make sure it was nice and juicy. Than after stamping my Santa I sprinkled on Ranger Sticky embossing powder. I then heated the powder and as soon as it melted quickly placed down my piece of foil. I burnished the foil good and did end up heating up from the backside and burnishing some more to get better coverage with the foil.

I hate to admit it but I bought Neon Ampifly several months ago and haven't really used as I didn't like my results. However I got to thinking and decided to see what happened if I painted it on before using my heat gun. I love the way the beard and mustache turned out using it.

Another thing I haven't used much is Martha Stewart flocking powder. I used a paint brush to apply glue and then sprinkled the flocking on the band of Santa's hat.

I tried to paint the hat with a red gelato but it was too pastel and the color was trying to bleed into the flocking.  I ended up taking a Poppy Red color pencil and coloring. The holly and the bell on the hat were colored with gel pens.

Using a smaller circle die I cut out card stock which I airbrushed to make it a darker green. Then using my label marker with Satin tape I printed out the Merry Christmas and cut the ends.
